Medical Technology: Year-end Letter 2018
Thank you for supporting and trusting Focus on Health in providing you with your full complement of CPD activities for 2019. Having us as your partner will ensure that you are CPD compliant.
Background
This letter contains important information regarding your membership for 2019. In a nutshell it is indicated that:
- Membership fees increase with only 5%, and we remain the most affordable CPD provider
- If your account is paid up you qualify for a lower membership fee in 2019
- Your membership number is valid for life
- The more members you refer, the less you will pay
- Cash payments into our bank account of less than R285.00 is NOT acceptable anymore and carries an additional fee of R40.00
- Your membership fee includes a portion that ensures HPCSA compliance

Please note that CASH payments of less than R285.00 made into our bank account will carry an extra fee of R40.00 for your account. Cash handling fees of banks are very expensive and because we try to keep our fees as low and affordable as possible, we cannot afford to incur these losses.
Additional Service
Our fee is split between a compliance and membership fee. The compliance fee is aimed at ensuring that you comply with the statutory requirements of the HPCSA, for instance an audit or marital status change. The membership fee is for the CPD activities. To keep things simple, we however only provide one fee for all our services.
Lifelong Membership Number
Your Focus on Health membership number will be yours for life. If you have to put your membership on hold for studies and you re-activate your account, just give us your membership number and no registration forms will have to be completed or signed again.
Subscription Fees for 2019
It is with regret that other than last year, we have to announce a small price increase for 2019. We try our best to keep our fees as low as possible, but due to the increase in supplier prices, our company has no other option. The membership fee increase will only be with 5% and the 1% VAT increase we were able to absorb for 2018 will then be added hereto. Even with the increase we remain the most affordable provider of self-study CPD.
Also please take note: Courier fees for 2019 will be between R70 and R150 depending on your location.
Discounted Fees
We have an early bird fee for accounts that are paid in full. As a thank you for making our work easier, your fee will be the following if you make a payment before the end of 2018:

We announced a price reduction in 2017 for those subscribers that exclusively make use of our online option. If you choose this option to save, please remember that no activities are sent to you; only a SMS that informs you that activities are available online. This fee will be R625.00 VAT inclusive OR early bird fee R589.00
Group/Corporate Memberships
We encourage group CPD membership as this gives us the opportunity to offer great rates and deliver straight to your workplace. You can contact us for more information.
Your CPD can be free of charge!
You will receive a referral fee of between R50.00 and R100.00 for each new member you refer and whose account is fully paid up. You will then continue to receive this as long as they remain with Focus on Health and their fees are paid up.
