Locum dispensing licenses are now again issued
This means that the holder of such a license:
- May only dispense from premises where the owner of the practice is a holder of a valid dispensing licence, and
- May only dispense from such premises (see above) if his / her dispensing license is conspicuously displayed for the duration of the locum.
Previously locums had to obtain licences for each premise they dispensed from. This change is due to representations made by the National Convention on Dispensing (NCD) headed by doctor Norman Mabasa to the Department of Health (DoH)
